7,000 websites are participation in Blankout

At least apparently. It's said that Google claims that it has 7,000 website buddies that are also going to participate in the blank out tommorow.



I know what you're thinking: "Oh no! What about deviant art?" Well I have been informed by (lol, lol, lol you wont get it, its not even an inside joke) that despite all the claims that deviantart is participating, an employee of deviantart says that it is not. So calm down you can still get on here tomorrow. But to be honest, idk if google is going to shut down tomorrow. Some say they aren't; others are saying it is. But for sure wikipedia is.

And as for a lot of people who are saying that SOPA and PIPA are denying our first admendment rights, explain that they're abusing their power by shutting down companies that contain illegal posts because no matter what, they can't wipe it out completely therefore they cant really control it, but dont say a copyright law doesn't already exists. This law we currrently have protects people's copyright and you should want it to protect yours.

But, of course for all the people worrying about deviantart, it sucks that the acception of fair use is very complicated and apparently up to the court to decide.
